We are pleased to be hosting a First Aid for Parents course on Friday 21st October, 9.00-12.00 at Farnborough Road. This is a one-off session, and there will be a charge of £25 per person. Limited crèche places are available. To book, please call 01704 572579 or email Liv on ccadmin.farnboroughroad@schools.sefton.gov.uk. Payment must be made in full by Thursday 13th October, or your place will be offered to somebody else. Priority will be given to families within our reach area with a child under the age of 5. If you do not meet this criteria, we will add you to the waiting list and offer you a space dependent on demand. For more information on the course, see below.
First Aid for Parents
This half day session covers the most important aspects of emergency first aid and raises awareness of what to do in an emergency.
Content
Introduction, housekeeping, timings etc
Discussion with group on what questions they have which they would like answering to do with injuries AND illnesses
The main subjects discussed, demonstrated and skills practiced,
Dealing with choking including infants, children and adults.
Resuscitation of infants, children and adults.
Demonstrate recovery position.
Dealing with bleeding (internal and external)
Participants practice use of bandages.
Dealing with cases of poisoning
Recognising and responding to the following conditions; epilepsy / asthma / diabetes / meningitis.

Everyone receives a 60 page colourful PFA book to take home and also a laminated attendance certificate.
Starting next Friday, 9.30-11.30, Clare will be running a brand new session where you can make a fancy dress costume (get super organised for World Book Day 2017? Or perhaps you have an event coming up??). No sewing expertise required.
There will be a crèche offered alongside this group, at a cost of £5 per session. The course itself is free of charge.
